Program Overview:

The Up-Styling Mastery course is a three-day program designed for those passionate about pushing their creative boundaries and mastering the art of up-dos. This comprehensive program delves deep into the elements of up-styling, focusing on both the technical intricacies and the creative elements.

In this course, we will explore various up-do styles, including classic, contemporary, and trending styles. We emphasize the balance between creativity and practical, wearable looks that suit different occasions, face shapes, and hair types. Upon completion, students will be well-equipped with the techniques and skills to create stunning up-dos for their clients.

Who Can Attend: All stylists looking to perfect their upstyling skills. Must have completed hair school or cosmetology, and/or be a registered apprentice.

Day-by-Day Course Schedule:

Day One: Introduction to Up-Styling, Prep & Classics

  • 9:00-10:00: Course introduction, understanding hair types, prepping, and consultations.
  • 10:00-12:00: An overview of up-styling tools and products, their care, and proper usage, Demo
  • 12:00-1:00: Lunch break
  • 1:00-4:00: Practical session: Half up style, French Twist/Roll, Chignon, Sleek High Pony

Day Two: Mastering Up-Do Styles With Braiding & Extensions 

  • 9:00-11:00: Foundations, Braiding and Extensions
  • 11:00-12:00- Creating the “perfectly” messy up do, Demo
  • 12:00-1:00: Lunch break
  • 1:00-4:00: Practical session & 15 min styles

Day Three: Bridal & Accessories

  • 9:00-11:00: Recap, Creating Various Bridal looks, Elevating Experience 
  • 11:00-12:00- Working with Accessories 
  • 12:00-1:00: Lunch break
  • 1:00-3:00: Practical assessment: Performing a full bridal up-styling service on a model, How to take the perfect photo
  • 3:30-4:00- Course review, Q&A, and certificate distribution.

Tools You Will Need To Bring:

  • Blowdryer
  • Curling Irons ( 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch)
  • Flat Iron 
  • Hair Brushes (Mason Pearson or smoothing brush, Paddle brush)
  • Round Brushes (Small, Medium, Large)
  • Tail Comb
  • Teasing comb/brush 
  • Bobby Pins ( Black, Brown, Blonde)
  • Hair ties( Assortment)
  • Bungee
  • Hairpins (U-Pins)

Assessment:

  • Practical application of up-styling techniques

By the end of this three-day course, participants will possess a thorough understanding of up-dos, from classic to contemporary styles. They will be equipped with the skills to confidently consult with clients, create suitable up-do styles, and offer high-quality up-styling services.
